Quick answers about Coach for iPhone, and how to reach a person when you need one.

What Coach is
Coach is a day planner and focus timer. You choose one outcome for the week, give each task a realistic duration and see your working day as one ribbon: timed blocks, breaks, notes and a needle for now. When you start a focus block, the screen turns cobalt and counts down, and the timer follows you to the Lock Screen. There’s no account, no ads and no tracking.
Using Coach in your browser
Open Coach free on your phone or computer. After the first online visit, the workspace is ready offline. On iPhone or iPad, use Safari’s Share menu and Add to Home Screen. On a computer, choose Install app or Add to Dock in your browser.
The browser version uses guided coaching and keeps your plan in that browser on that device. It has no automatic device sync or background alarm. Use Settings to export a backup before clearing browser data or moving devices, then Restore a backup on the other device. Keep one workspace window for editing; if two windows disagree, export the draft before reloading. The Mac beta adds local AI, menu bar controls and iCloud sync.
Where is my data?
On your iPhone. Your plan, focus notes and settings are saved in Coach’s private storage on the device. There is no Coach account and no Coach server, and the coach runs on your iPhone too, so your messages never leave it. Backups you export go wherever you choose to save them. The privacy policy has the details.
How do check-ins work?
During a focus block, Coach asks “What are you working on right now?” after a set amount of focus time: every 45 minutes unless you change it. Paused time doesn’t count. Answer from the notification, even on the Lock Screen: type a few words, tap Still on it to repeat your last note, or tap Not now to skip. When the block ends, Coach asks what you got done.
Your answers appear under Where your focus went in Progress, and as small flags on your day ribbon. To change how often Coach asks, or to turn check-ins off, use the picker near the bottom of the focus screen or Focus check-ins in Settings (the gear on Today). Without notifications, Coach still asks on the focus screen while the app is open.
Why can’t I see the AI coach?
The coach runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence. It needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on under Apple Intelligence & Siri in Settings, and your iPhone and Siri set to a language it supports. Right after you turn it on, the model can take a while to download, so give it some time on Wi-Fi and power. On other iPhones, everything else works the same: planning, the day ribbon, focus, check-ins and the focus log. Coach never swaps in a cloud AI.
How do I cancel, get a refund or restore my purchase?
Apple handles the subscription. To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Coach. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge; deleting the app alone doesn’t cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple: ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. On a new iPhone, tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen to pick up the subscription you already have.
How do I move my plan between Mac and iPhone?
Turn on Sync with Coach on your Mac in Coach’s Settings on iPhone, and Sync with iPhone in Coach on your Mac. Your plan travels through your own iCloud Drive, never through a Coach server, and Coach combines changes made on both.
You can also use a backup file. On iPhone, tap the gear on Today to open Settings, choose Export a backup, then save or AirDrop the file. On your Mac, restore it in Coach’s settings. To go the other way, export a backup on the Mac and choose Restore from a backup on iPhone. Both use the same format, and Coach checks each file before it replaces anything. Restoring replaces the plan on that device, so export first if you want to keep a copy.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the Coach app removes the plan and settings stored on your iPhone. Backup files you exported, and any copy in your own iCloud Drive if you turned on sync, stay until you delete them. Coach keeps no server copy, so a deleted plan can’t be recovered unless you kept a backup.
The only record we hold is your subscription status at RevenueCat, under a random ID. To get a copy or have it deleted, email us the order ID from Apple’s receipt. The privacy policy explains all your rights.
