Terms of use.

Clear expectations for an app built to help you plan, focus, and follow through.

1. Who we are

These terms cover Coach for iPhone, this website, and Coach on the Mac. Coach is operated by Yin-Ti Yip. The operator (“we”) provides Coach and is responsible for it. When you buy a subscription, Apple is the seller: your purchase contract is with Apple, and your agreement to use Coach is with us.

2. What Coach provides

Coach helps you organize tasks, choose a priority, plan what fits your day, run a focus timer, and adjust your plan when the day changes. On iPhone, the optional coach runs on the device with Apple Intelligence, on iPhones that support it. In the Mac app, which is in private testing, live AI coaching is optional and needs your permission to share context. You choose whether to enable Firm mode and can pause coaching. Coach doesn’t act outside your plan.

3. A planning tool, not advice

Coach supports planning and reflection. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice or services. Its suggestions, including the coach’s, can be wrong or incomplete; you decide which to use and what actions to take. Coach does not guarantee business or personal results.

If a message sounds like a crisis, Coach shows help lines. They are there for information only: Coach does not assess anyone or contact anyone for you. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number now (112 in the EU, 911 in the United States).

4. Your licence

Coach for iPhone is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement together with these terms. If they conflict, Apple’s agreement applies to the app. The website, and the Mac app while it is in testing, are offered for your own use under these terms. Coach’s name, design and code remain ours.

5. Your subscription

Coach for iPhone is free to download and offered as an auto-renewing subscription: currently €59.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or €9.99 a month. The price that counts is the one the App Store shows for your country before you confirm; it includes any VAT.

  • Free trial. Starting the trial needs a payment method on your Apple Account, but nothing is charged during the trial. Coach reminds you 2 days before it ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and you pay nothing.
  • Payment and renewal. Apple charges your Apple Account when the trial ends, or when you confirm if there is no trial. The subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the price that applies then, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple tells you in advance if a price goes up, and asks for your consent where the law requires it.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your iPhone’s Settings (your name, then Subscriptions), or as Apple explains here. Coach stays unlocked until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app alone doesn’t cancel it.
  • Refunds. Apple handles all payments and refunds under its terms. Ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves, but we’re glad to help if something went wrong.

The Mac app and browser workspace are in private testing. No payment is collected for them.

6. Your right of withdrawal in the EU

Because Apple sells the subscription, the EU’s 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases is exercised with Apple, under Apple’s Media Services Terms. Those terms let you cancel an order within 14 days of receiving the receipt, without giving a reason, at reportaproblem.apple.com, and explain how this applies to subscriptions and renewals. We don’t ask you to give up this right.

7. Your content and fair use

Your tasks and messages remain yours. You are responsible for having the right to enter any content you use. The app uses that content only to provide the functions you choose. We don’t receive it, sell it or use it to train AI models.

Do not use Coach to infringe others’ rights, introduce malicious code or interfere with the service. Imports must use the supported backup format.

8. Saving, availability and changes

Coach saves your plan on your devices: on iPhone in the app’s own storage, and on the Mac in the browser and a local folder. There is no Coach account or cloud backup; sync, if you turn it on, runs through your own iCloud. Export a backup if you want an extra copy. A timer or reminder is not a guaranteed alarm: your device’s settings, such as Focus modes and notification permissions, decide what reaches you. The on-device coach depends on Apple Intelligence being available on your iPhone.

We keep Coach working as described and fix faults we learn about. We may improve or change features. If a change would take away something important you pay for, we will tell you in advance, in the app or on this website, and you can cancel before it takes effect. We may update these terms for good reason, such as a change in the law or in Coach; we will show the new date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app beforehand. If you don’t agree, you can cancel.

9. Stopping use

You can stop using Coach at any time. To stop paying, cancel your subscription with Apple; deleting the app alone doesn’t cancel it. Export or clear your plan in settings. Downloaded backup files remain under your control and must be deleted separately if you no longer want them.

10. Our liability

We are fully liable, as the law provides, for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury, and under mandatory consumer law, including your statutory rights if Coach doesn’t work as described. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

Otherwise, we are liable only for foreseeable damage caused by our breach of these terms. We are not responsible for loss that happens because of your device, your Apple Account or iCloud, a third-party service, or deleting the app without a backup. If you use Coach for your business, we are not liable for lost profit, lost revenue or lost business opportunity, to the extent the law allows.

11. Law and disputes

The law of the operator’s country (Belgium) applies to these terms. If you use Coach as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. As a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live or where we are established, and we can only bring a claim against you in the courts where you live. Please contact us first: most problems are solved quickly by email.

12. Privacy

The privacy policy explains what Coach stores and how you control it. If Coach ever adds accounts or cloud services, the policy will be updated before they collect any data.
